Tok to Fairbanks

Today we made the short ride from Tok, AK to Fairbanks.  Along the way we stopped at Delta Junction & the North Pole for some sight seeing & photos.  We caught our first glimpse of the Alaskan Pipeline.

It’s really warm here in Fairbanks.  Another sunny, beautiful day!  On the way up here we drove through some wet roads, so we must have missed an isolated shower this morning.

Last night we stayed at the Sourdough campground.  It was nice!  I would stay there again.  They even had laundry facilities, all you can eat breakfast for $10 and the sites had nice trees.  We always love places where we have water & electricity at our tent so we can charge our communicators & easily make coffee etc.  Now we are at the Hampton.  It will be great to sleep in a real bed!

Tomorrow we’re planning to begin the trek up the Dalton Hwy to Deadhorse.  So far the weather looks good & since it has been dry for the most part, hopefully the road will be good.  That ride makes me nervous.  I don’t want to get caught up there in the rain on muddy, slushy roads.  Tomorrow we’ll cross the Arctic Circle.  I am looking forward to that!

Here are some more pics from the adventure!
