Since we are going to ride so many miles, I think it is worth the effort to document the journey & earn a couple of awards. We’ll be able to get the SaddleSore 1000 & and Butt Burner 1500 awards from the Iron Butt Association. It’s never really been on my BID (Before I Die) list, but since we’ll be traveling the distance, we might as well add it to our list of accomplishments! We’ll have to ride 1500 miles in 2 days to get the Butt Burner & 1000 miles in 24 hours to get the SaddleSore.
I started my BID list in high school, my sophomore English class. My teacher gave us the idea. I can’t recall her name….. My list was on black paper, written in neon ink. I looked at my old list this morning (I haven’t added to that list since high school) but I’ve been fortunate enough to do a lot of things on the list! I should probably start a new one, or at least a new page in that book. I’ll need to find more neon ink. My current list only exists in my head & it’s pretty long!
I think our route is finally done. Rob & Justin are going to be able to ride most of the trip with us & the route got Rob’s approval stamp this morning. We’ll be meeting them at Glacier National Park on our second night out. Daddy will also meet up with us in Montana on the second day and the 5 of us will begin our journey to the Arctic Ocean!
I found another $300 worth of items we might need for our trip, so I placed another order this morning. I wonder what else I am forgetting?
